In 2020, Aransas County, Del Mar College and the Aransas County Partnership Economic Development Corporation began steps to create the Aransas County Workforce Development Center to offer classes and training for high school students & adults to learn new skills, advance careers or change careers in a wide range of occupations. Working with local businesses, large and small, offering training that will help obtain living wage and higher jobs, helping entrepreneurs start their own businesses, opportunities for workforce and employers.
Rockport Fulton ISD is an independent county-wide school system serving a 486 square mile area including the communities of Holiday Beach, Lamar, Fulton, Rockport and the northern part of Aransas Pass. Today Aransas county has a combined population of 23,510.
The enrollment of 3,000+ students is served by Live Oak Learning Center (PK, K, and grades 1-2), Fulton Learning Center (grades 3-5), Rockport-Fulton Middle School (grades 6-8), and Rockport-Fulton High School (grades 9-12).
Achievement scores: All Districts and Schools were not rated in 2020 & 2021 due to COVID 19.
College credit classes and career training classes are offered in conjunction with Del Mar College.
With three campuses in Corpus Christi and Centers located in surrounding counties, Del Mar college provides accessible opportunities for all ages to prepare for careers in a wide range of fields. Del Mar College offers over 100 degree and certificate options within its eight Pathways. Graduate job-ready or complete a degree designed for transfer to a university, Del Mar College has the program to help meet these goals. In conjunction with Aransas County ISD, Del Mar currently offers college credit classes to high school Juniors and Seniors at Rockport-Fulton High School along with certifications in Culinary Arts, Welding and Phlebotomy.
The Craft Training Center offers training in welding, pipefitting, instrument fitting, instrument tech, industrial painting, scaffold-building, mobile crane operations, and field safety/safety technology. The Center also provides industry assessments in all craft areas including an NCCER Accredited Crane Performance Center and Rigger/Signal Person Performance Center. The Center is located 38 miles from downtown Rockport.
